On a day with blizzard-like conditions, when park districts and school programs were cancelled and businesses closed early due to the weather, I had hoped to avoid hazardous driving conditions and contacted Katy about rescheduling my daughter's lesson for the day. As she teaches out of her home, she was unaffected by the weather and informed me that without the required 24 hour notice, our failure to attend the lesson would result in forfeiting the already paid fee. Rather than issuing a refund or credit for one lesson, Katy decided it was better business sense to lose the hundreds of dollars she stood to earn had she honored our concerns for our family's safety and retained my daughter as her student. According to her, other instructors she knows would expect their students to attend "rain or shine." Other instructors I know who travel to teach their students chose to cancel their lessons on this day. It is regrettable that she values her perceptions of what other instructors do over her personal relationships with her students and the concerns of her students' families.

My daughter has attended voice lessons with Mrs. Wells for the past 2 years. She loves voice, and said "Mrs. Wells makes learning fun". I have noticed great growth in my daughter's voice skills, breath control, tonality, and harmony. We are very thankful for this wonderful teacher and her flexibility with scheduling!
