  I recently relocated my business in the same parking lot of Armanettis liquor store. I must say I’ve never been treated so poorly. I was warned that roselle, Il is racist. I Wld never generalize a whole area because of one encounter; however, I do judge based on how I’m treated. I’ve patronized this store to play lottery at least 3-5 times and each time was less than friendly. I noticed other customers who are Caucasian & Indian get hello, conversation and even a smile. There’s also a woman that works there, all of them are Indian by the way...with skin almost darker than mine and I’m a Black American woman. Ive gotten ugly looks, no smile, & no hello.. They looked at me like they wish I Wld just leave their establishment... I can’t believe l didn’t say something sooner.. I guess I’ve just been looking past the poor customer service until today. I played $10 in lottery and bought some water. I asked for a bag upon leaving and the clerk or owner lets out a pssst.. u Wldv thought I asked to borrow money! I said wht was that for sir?.. he says “ know one asks for a bag”.... I said well it’s cold outside and I’m walking!! I chose that moment to express my feelings and let him know, every time I’ve come in your store u guys have been less than pleasant! Yet ure nice to all the non black customers. I don’t want your water or your bag!! I told him.. I got my Dollar and went to the friendly Mobil gas station across the street!! I experienced great customer service at Mobil! I bought water and asked for a bag, & the clerk said sure! With a smile! They’ll be getting my business, my friends, family and coworkers too! Good customer service is hard to come by but some of us still give it and expect it..
